IMDG Code · Current development builds
Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This policy explains how the current Android and Windows development builds of IMDG Code (Android package com.imdgcode.ce) handle information. It applies to the app and support correspondence about the app and describes the implemented features as of the effective date.
Privacy at a glance: The course, practical exercises, quizzes, source material, and PDF generation work offline without an account. Your profile and learning records stay on your device. You choose where to save exports and whether to share them. The current app has no advertising, analytics, in-app purchases, remote AI service, or cloud sync.
1. Who we are
IMDG Code is operated by AC Utveckling (AC mobiltillbehör HB), based in Sweden.
For privacy questions, contact claeseriksson@acutveckling.com.
2. Information stored on your device
The app saves the following information locally to resume learning, show progress, assess exercises, and create documents you request:
- The name and role or learning interest you enter.
- Your selected language, regulatory context, course track, dark appearance, larger-text preference, and daily study goal.
- Bookmarked lessons, the last lesson, lesson completion dates and revisions, study time, and study dates.
- Practical-exercise answers, correctness, scores, pass results, and dates, including the latest failed attempt where an earlier pass is retained.
- Quiz and final-assessment answers and results, scores, dates, and the course version, language, track, and regulatory context associated with them.
- Course-completion records with the learner’s name, score, date, record identifier, and course scope, plus preserved evidence from earlier course versions.
The main save is learning-progress.json. A temporary learning-progress.json.tmp file is used while replacing that save and may remain after an interrupted write. Earlier-course evidence is retained inside the saved learning record. The Godot engine may also create local logs and cache files used to run or diagnose the app. These files are not uploaded by the app.
The current save keeps up to 100 recent quiz attempts. Best final assessments and course-completion records are retained separately for each course scope and are not removed by that recent-history limit.
On Windows, a first launch without a current save may copy a previous IMDG Academy installation’s local learning file. That migration leaves the original file in its separate folder.
The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, or microphone. It does not verify the identity represented by the name and role you enter.
3. Exports, external links, and security
The current app does not transmit your profile, practical answers, quiz results, learning history, course-completion records, or engine logs to AC Utveckling or a server. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking services, in-app purchases, remote AI service, or developer-operated cloud synchronization.
You can save a PDF course-completion record, a JSON learning record, or the bundled source PDF using the operating system’s native file picker. The app writes to the destination you select without requesting broad Android storage access.
The course-completion PDF contains your name, course track, language and regulatory context, amendment and course version, completed workload, assessment score, date, and record identifier. The JSON export includes your name and role, course scope and objectives, lesson records, practical answers and results, best assessments, recent quiz attempts, current and earlier course-completion records, preserved earlier-course evidence, and an export timestamp.
These documents record completion of learning in the app. They do not establish IMO endorsement, accreditation, professional authorization, or independently verified competence for particular duties.
If you choose a cloud-storage destination or share exported files with an employer or another recipient, that provider or recipient handles its copy under its own policies. Exports remain separate from the app’s private storage.
Official source links open in your browser only when you select them. The browser and the website you visit handle that connection under their own policies. The course, source figures, and bundled privacy policy remain available offline.
On Android, saved records are protected by the operating system’s private app-storage controls, and automatic Android app backup is disabled in the current build. Device transfers or tools you choose may create separate copies. On Windows, records use your user account’s app-data folder and the operating system’s access controls. The app does not add a separate password or encryption system to its saves.
4. Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you remove them, subject to the recent quiz-history limit above. You can edit or clear your current name and role in Settings. Editing the current profile does not rewrite previously issued course-completion records or exported documents.
Reset learning progress clears completed lessons and their records, bookmarks, quiz attempts, saved best assessments, practical results, earlier-course evidence, course-completion records, study time and dates, and the last-lesson position. It preserves your name, role, language, regulatory context, selected track, reading preferences, and study goal. It does not remove engine files, exported documents, or the original file from a previous IMDG Academy installation.
On Android, remove all private app-local records using Android Settings → Apps → IMDG Code → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Clearing cache alone does not erase your saved learning record.
On Windows, close the app and delete only its app-data folder, normally %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\IMDG Code\, to remove its save, temporary save, and local engine files. Deleting the executable or its download folder does not erase this separate app-data folder.
If you used an earlier IMDG Academy installation, its separate folder, normally %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\IMDG Academy\, may still contain learning records. Remove those old records separately if you want to delete them too; otherwise a later launch without the current save may import them again.
Exported PDFs and JSON records remain at the destinations you chose after a reset, storage clearing, or uninstall. Delete those files and any cloud, transferred, or manually backed-up copies separately. Employers and other recipients manage their own retained copies; the app cannot erase them remotely or maintain their training archives automatically.
5. Contact correspondence
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve support issues, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. Email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it.
We retain correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request, relevant follow-up, or legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive cargo details or personal information that is unnecessary for your support request. You can contact us to ask about or request deletion of your correspondence.
6. Your rights
Where applicable under GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or data portability, and object to processing of your personal information. Contact claeseriksson@acutveckling.com to exercise your rights. We cannot remotely access or delete learning records stored only on your device; you can inspect and export them, edit your current profile, or remove local data using the app and the steps above.
Read more about your data protection rights. You may also lodge a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection.
7. Policy changes
We will update this page and its effective date if the app’s features or data practices change, including before adding features that collect or transmit information. This policy describes the current development builds; future releases may have an updated policy. A privacy policy is also available offline through Settings → Privacy policy in the current app.
