Aetherfall: The Verdant Oath · Current development builds
Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This policy explains how the current development builds of Aetherfall: The Verdant Oath (Android package com.aetherfall.verdantoath) handle information. It applies to the Android and desktop game and support correspondence about the game, and describes the implemented features as of the effective date.
Privacy at a glance: Aetherfall plays offline without an account. Your campaign progress, hero upgrades, idle rewards, and settings stay on your device. The current game has no advertising, analytics, in-app purchases, or cloud sync.
1. Who we are
Aetherfall: The Verdant Oath is operated by AC Utveckling (AC mobiltillbehör HB), based in Sweden.
For privacy questions, contact claeseriksson@acutveckling.com.
2. Information stored on your device
The game saves the following information locally to retain your progress, calculate idle gold, and remember your preferences:
- Your gold and aether crystals, and the levels of your three heroes.
- The highest cleared stage, resulting stage unlocks, and your best star rating for each completed stage.
- Whether you have seen the tutorial.
- Music, sound effects, battle effects, reduced-motion, automatic-ability, and battle-speed settings.
- A last-seen timestamp and pending idle-reward time.
The game uses your device clock to calculate gold earned while you are away. Pending idle time is capped at 12 hours and cleared when you claim its gold. These values are not linked to an account or a profile name.
The main save is aetherfall_v1.json. A temporary aetherfall_v1.json.tmp file is used while writing a save and may remain after an interrupted write. The Godot engine may also create local logs and cache files used to run or diagnose the game. Logs may contain engine messages, errors, and local file paths. None of these files are uploaded by the game.
The game does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos, and does not require your name or email address to play. Artwork, fonts, music, sound effects, and the in-game privacy policy are bundled with the game; playing does not contact their creators or an image-generation service.
3. Collection, sharing, and security
The current game does not connect to the network or transmit progress, settings, timestamps, idle-reward records, or engine logs to us or third parties. We cannot access the records stored only on your device and do not sell or share them.
The game has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking services, in-app purchases, chat, multiplayer, or developer-operated cloud synchronization. The current Android build does not integrate Google Play services.
On Android, local files are held in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s app storage controls. Android app-data backup is disabled in the current build. On Windows, the game uses your user account’s app-data folder and the operating system’s access controls. Keep your device and user account secure; the game does not provide a separate password or encryption system for its saves.
4. Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you reset progress, clear the app’s storage, or remove its app-data files. Autosaves replace older values.
In Settings, choose RESET PROGRESS and confirm to start again. This restores the starting gold and hero levels and resets crystals, campaign unlocks, stage stars, pending idle rewards, and the tutorial flag. It preserves your settings and starts a new last-seen timestamp. This is a progress reset, not removal of all app data or engine files.
On Android, use Android Settings → Apps → Aetherfall → Storage → Clear storage (sometimes called Clear data), or uninstall the app, to remove its normal private app data. Clearing cache alone does not erase saved progress or settings. Menu wording varies by device.
On Windows, close the game and delete its app-data folder, normally %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Aetherfall\, to remove the main and any temporary save and local engine files stored there. Deleting the executable or its download folder may leave this separate app-data folder behind.
Copies you create yourself through external backup tools or device transfers must be deleted separately. Resetting or removing the game does not delete email correspondence you sent to us. We have no server copy of your progress and cannot restore deleted saves.
5. Contact correspondence
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve support issues, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. Email providers process correspondence to deliver and store it.
We retain correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request, relevant follow-up, or legal obligations. Please avoid sending information that is unnecessary for your support request. You can contact us to ask about or request deletion of your correspondence.
6. Your rights
Where applicable under GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or data portability, and object to processing of your personal information. Contact claeseriksson@acutveckling.com to exercise your rights. We cannot remotely access or delete game data stored only on your device; you can remove it using the steps above.
Read more about your data protection rights. You may also lodge a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection.
7. Children
The same offline, local-only gameplay practices apply to all players, including children. No personal information is required to play, and the current game does not collect personal information from players.
8. Policy changes
We will update this page and its effective date if the game’s features or data practices change, including before adding features that collect or transmit information. This policy describes the current development builds; future releases may have an updated policy. A privacy policy is also bundled with the game and can be read offline from Settings → PRIVACY POLICY.
